Why We Worry
We Worry So You Don’t Have To.
WorryingTrends is a research project. We are gathering articles and information across a spectrum of fields that point to one basic trend: instability. Whether it is evidence of an institutional inability to look towards the longterm benefit of our nation, social indicators that show that future generations will be even more strapped for resources than we are here and now, or plain old fashioned corruption and incompetence, WT wants to gather it all in one place.
This blog was founded the week before the Minnesota bridge collapse and has since had a front row seat to infrastructure decay by watching New York City’s MTA become crippled by an August thunderstorm. Events such as these, as well as the Katrina Hurricane should help open our eyes and focus our energies on fixing problems here at home before we spend millions billions trillions abroad in an ill-defined expansionary whatchamacallit.
We’re not about doomsayin’ for its own sake, but let’s just say we don’t want to be taken completely by surprise. There are a ton of feel-good sites on the web, so we won’t bother with saddling you with an exit point. But if you want to get with some warm fuzzies and yet keep the political thing going, may we suggest checking out our sister site, ProgressWithoutBorders?
Interesting times indeed.
